How to measure the health and mental well-being of an SME | SMEs

The health and wellbeing of a company’s employees affect the working environment and whether or not they do their job. That is why the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has developed a questionnaire to measure how SMEs deal with these aspects.

The document contains 26 questions about mental health and wellness in the company. The employer must answer them by evaluating from 1 to 4 the performance in his company. In this sense, 1 equals “nothing”, while 4 equals “total”.

Days and working conditions

The questionnaire is intended to make companies aware of the importance of mental health and well-being. In addition, you want to help them improve in those aspects where they do not act correctly.

The employer answers questions about the following aspects:

– Working hours.

– The organization of work in the company.

– The working conditions.

– The adaptation of jobs to the employee’s condition.

– Hiring people with mental health problems.

– Employee training.

– Employee participation in decision-making.

The purpose of the questionnaire is to enable every SME to evaluate the health and mental well-being of its employees. As a result of the pandemic, there are aspects that affect the professional performance of the workforce. This self-assessment provides the entrepreneur with reliable results on the state of his business. Once you have them, you can take the necessary steps to improve those aspects in which you are not doing well. From the National Institute of Safety and Health, they recall that making changes in this regard will improve employee and company performance.
