Staples must have seen all the attention Krispy Kreme receives free donuts for handing out to vaccinated people year-round – with proof through a valid vaccination card – as they now offer to laminate those cards for all of us for free. On the latest episode of Nice Things Companies Are Do For Us Right Now, Staples announced yesterday that it will laminate every completed vaccination card from now until May 1 and this morning at no cost. Office Depot followed suit, promises free lamination until July 25th.

It’s not clear yet how important the paper tickets will be in the coming months, but chances are you will ever need yours as proof of vaccination when you travel or return to work or school. Since there is no comprehensive “digital vaccination passport” system in the US, most of us will rely on that piece of paper as our only proof that we have been vaccinated.

To protect its integrity for however long we need it, Staples says Business insider that it will laminate each vaccination card after the cardholder has received two doses (for the vaccines that require two, that is) through May 1. That date is an extension of the initial April 3 announcement. The offer is good in-store at locations across the country; the coupon code is “81450”, according to CBS BostonOffice Depot’s offering is much the same, but will run until the end of July; the coupon code is 52516714 and the listing can be printed here

Keep in mind that while laminating can help prevent the card from getting damaged, but you will not lose the card. It’s still a good idea to take a clear photo of the card for your records in case it gets lost.
