Rite Aid
Many stores and pharmacies are starting to offer COVID-19 vaccinations, including Rite Aid. Here’s all the information you need to know about how to get a vaccine at Rite Aid, including where they are available and how to apply. These vaccines are distributed based on the suitability requirements of each state.
Here Rite Aid offers vaccinations
Rite Aid pharmacies now offer COVID-19 vaccinations in seven regions, CBS 21 reports. These locations include:
- New York City
- California
- Michigan
- New Jersey
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania (including Philadelphia)
Rite Aid stated on its website, “We can also receive dose allocation directly from additional state and local jurisdictions. Rite Aid does not determine the supply of vaccines or which individual groups qualify, but we support national and local distribution plans. For more information, see our fitness guide below. “
More locations are likely to be added, but these are the regions where vaccinations begin at Rite Aid pharmacies. Rite Aid will have 100 doses per store at the beginning, so the supply will be limited. If you don’t initially see an appointment, you are encouraged to visit again and see when appointments are opened.
To see if you qualify, Rite Aid has provided an eligibility guideline for each state here. This includes states where Rite Aid does not currently offer vaccinations, but may in the future.
Heyward Donigan, president and CEO of Rite Aid, said in a statement:
With vaccine demand outstripping supply, establishing an additional channel for vaccine allocation and distribution is an important and positive first step in the effort to end COVID-19. Initially, vaccine appointments with any provider will still be difficult to schedule. However, we expect vaccine availability to improve over time, and Rite Aid is ready to deliver as many vaccines as we are assigned quickly, safely and efficiently.
Please note that the relevant COVID-19 vaccine website for Rite Aid is here. It is separate from the chain’s immunization web page.
