Some Valley residents share their tips on how to book an appointment to get Walgreens’ COVID-19 vaccine.
Several Walgreens locations have received a handful of doses through the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program for COVID-19 vaccinations. Appointments on Friday and Saturday were quickly booked this week and currently show no available appointments.
“It would say appointments were available, but when you clicked it, it said, ‘oops, no appointments are available,'” said Bev Grassy, who received her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine from Walgreens on Saturday. . . Grassy said the key to finding an appointment is simple, keep refreshing the web page. “I’m very glad I got it.”
The same tip comes from Susanne Solmes, who constantly refreshes the available appointments page on the Walgreens website before winning the so-called ‘appointment lottery’.
“Fortunately, I came in after about seven appointments,” said Solmes.
Debbie from Sun City West said she found happiness registering friends online using a computer and does not recommend using a phone or tablet to register. She told ABC15 that Walgreens will have new appointment times on Tuesday at 6am or Wednesday at 6am
A Walgreens pharmacy told ABC15 that “delivery is not 100 percent guaranteed.” Adding the pharmacy is not sure how many appointments will be available in the next week, as the amount of vaccines given at that particular location is unknown.
According to pharmacists on Walgreens 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road in Central Phoenix, 100 vaccines will be administered at that location and there will be appointments on Fridays and Saturdays.
CVS will also be part of this new pharmacy rollout. but when we hit base with CFS, but they didn’t have a timetable for when the Arizona operations could begin.
