How JJ Watt Would Fit With The Browns: Orange and Brown Talk

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Browns need to improve their pass rush and a pretty good pass rusher has just hit the free agent market. The Texans and defensive lineman JJ Watt agreed to part ways and Watt was officially released on Friday.

Watt has an injury history and he’s not the long-term answer as the second pass rusher, but he could certainly provide a bridge to a draft pick and help the Browns have some cap flexibility over the next few years.

Watt isn’t the player who cleared the defensive player of the year awards – the player who tormented the Browns in 2014 when they tried to return to the playoffs – but he’s still an effective pass rusher who would benefit from play on the other side of Myles Garrett. Garrett would of course also benefit from a pass rusher like Watt.

Mary Kay Cabot, Ellis Williams and I talked all about Watt and whether the Browns should sign him. Listen with the player below or click here to listen if you don’t see the player
