A group of the world’s twelve most important clubs have decided to reveal themselves to the status quo and create a Super League, in which teams such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Milan and Manchester United will participate in a tournament played as follows:
Which clubs participate in the tournament?
There will be 15 permanent clubs in the tournament each year, including Milan, Arsenal, Atlético de Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, Internazionale Milano, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, plus five others. teams classified annually based on the results of their competition.
What will the competition system be?
The 20 clubs that qualify for the European Super League are divided into two groups of 10 teams and play round-trip matches. Once that round is over, the top four teams in each sector will qualify and the knockout round will begin, which will end with a single match final.
When would the tournament start?
According to the organizers, the Super League will start as soon as possible and that date is expected to be next August, as the tournament between the best teams in Europe aims to start next season.
On what day are the games played?
The matches will be played in the middle of the week, so that each club can fulfill the obligations of the local championship, in addition, the winnings will be divided equally among all clubs involved.
What do FIFA and UEFA say about the Super League?
FIFA and UEFA have opposed the Super League as it is a tournament outside of their jurisdiction. They have threatened to exclude clubs and footballers from matches hosted by the two football entities, although the clubs have paid little attention to the announcements.
