The Aztecs advanced as leaders in Group A. The two finalists automatically qualify for the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, which will take place between July 23 and August 10.

Actions

The catracho team showed a lot of category, they played with confidence against a very responsive opponent who showed very good technique.

The Honduran midfielder Kervin Arriga dared it from 25 meters and pulled out a bomb that shook the left one vertically at minute 8.

Honduras was very good, with half a job wasted work and game cohesion.

Left-handed winger Wely Decas sent a high center and José García hit with his head, but the ball crashed into the horizontal at minute 13. La Bicolor, bustle. He imposed his criteria, his conditions.

But when Honduras played better, she was surprised by her opponent. Derek Cornelius got a center, José García and Denil Maldonado dived between the catrachos power stations and headed 1-0 at minute 27.

A strong moral blow to the national team, but it didn’t crease, it didn’t turn into drama or distrust, and kept playing the same.

The midfielder Edwin Rodríguez took a precise free kick and captained the area Denil Maldonado gracefully headed past Canadian goalkeeper James Pantemis. It was 1-1, minute 30. Reasonable and deserved.

From then on, the game was in balance, but the H was closer to a goal when Alejandro Reyes shot from 20 yards after 45 minutes, but the goalkeeper refused the ball.

Low sensitive

In the second chapter, Honduras continued to dominate the game, had the initiative and was very close to the goal with medium range shots, but the Canadian goalkeeper fought and avoided the second goal.

Great credit to the Canadians who weathered the storm. Unfortunately the marker did not move and Kervin Arriaga received a yellow card disqualifying him from playing the semi-final against USA.

But playing like this in Honduras is of course exciting.
