Honduran Health Minister warns ‘not to ask for favors’ to those who want to change the application of the COVID-19 vaccine

Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Honduras’ Health Minister Alba Consuelo Flores said on Tuesday that there are people who would like to receive the covid-19 vaccine without respecting the order of priority.

Given the arrival of 48,000 vaccines by the World Health Organization (WHO) Covax mechanism next Saturday, complaints of abuse are in the filing.
Flores warned the media that “no one can ask for favors to be vaccinated as these serve to immunize health personnel.”

The vaccines will be transferred to all municipalities in the country for use from March 13th since Tuesday of that week.

“Hospital directors will be in charge of continuing the process and responsible for ensuring that they are applied according to the lists,” said the minister.
The remaining 139,200 doses donated through the Covax mechanism are expected to reach the country by the end of the month.

Alba Consuelo added that they are waiting for the calendar that the drug company that will distribute the vaccine will send in to see the amounts of doses and the date of arrival of the drug.
In addition to the 400,000 vaccines donated through Covax, four million doses are being purchased to immunize the population of the virus.
