High speed could cause the driver Tesla in Miramar to smash into the house

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Several destroyed cars stood in front of a house in Miramar after the driver of a Tesla ran into cars, several trees and a house early Saturday morning.

Police said it happened around 4 a.m. on Miramar Parkway near Southwest 65th Avenue.

Home surveillance cameras captured the moment the Tesla set out on the devastating path.

Neighbors said one person was in the car and passed out after the crash.

That driver was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital by first responders.

They also saw Broward Sheriff’s Office closely following the car and said a deputy sheriff had turned up on the scene almost immediately after the crash. The deputy told residents that the car must have traveled over 100 mph to cause such damage, but investigators will determine exactly what happened.

The impact of the car was also so rough that it lifted a pickup truck parked in front of the house and crashed a Mazda that was also parked.
