Sony’s hard-to-find PlayStation 5 console could hit store shelves today.
According to Spiel Times, a number of Target employees have said the PS5 will be back in stock at Target sometime between Sunday 27 and Tuesday 29 September. It seems likely that this will not happen today as the store replenishment usually takes place in the early hours of the morning.
This means that – if the reports are correct – the PS5 could be available to purchase tomorrow or Tuesday morning, with resupply typically occurring between 5am and 7am.
This varies by country and all units are only available online to purchase for delivery or in-store pickup. Thanks to both scarcity and the COVID-19 pandemic, you won’t find a PS5 on store shelves for quite some time.
Check for PS5 devices available at a Target store near you this link for the disc-based edition, and this link for the fully digital edition.
You want to be signed in to your Target account with a saved payment method ready to use. If there is a refill in the early hours of the morning, you want it in case you get up early.
Note: this is not a guarantee. This news has not been officially confirmed by Sony or Target. It’s an opportunity and only a chance to get your hands on a PS5.
But remember: unless you like to play Demon’s Souls, there’s really no compelling reason to buy a PS5 (or an Xbox Series X) now.
The fact is, there just aren’t that many new generation exclusives to play. Almost everything, including Spider-Man: Miles Morales, can still be played on last generation consoles. That’s going to change in 2021, but we suspect it will be much easier to find these consoles in the new year (not immediately, of course).
Still good luck. And whatever you do, please don’t buy price gouging systems from scalpers on eBay or other reseller sites. The PS5 is a great console. It’s worth the MSRP and not a penny more.
