Here counties fall in four-layer, color-coded reopening system for California coronavirus – NBC Los Angeles

Last year, California unveiled a four-level, color-coded system based on coronavirus conditions in each of the state’s 58 counties.

When it was first released, about 94 percent of California’s population was under the most restrictive purple layer. From March 2, 40 provinces were in the purple layer; 16 counties were in the red layer; and two were in the orange layer.

As conditions improve and vaccinations continue, more provinces are preparing to move out of the purple layer and into less restrictive red, orange and yellow levels.

The map below shows where each province falls under the tiered system from March 2. Updates are usually released on Tuesdays.
