Héctor Herrera in mourning; Mother of Atlético de Madrid footballer dies of Covid-19

The footballer of Atlético de MadridHéctor Herrera did not participate in the call for the derby against Real Madrid, because he had to travel to Mexico as a result of Covid-19 after the death of his mother at the age of 57.

Maria Candelaria Lopez, was key in the Mexican midfielder’s career, working on a variety of activities to help his son on his way to professional football, in addition to being a recognized character in his community.

In Spain, it was reported that the midfielder had stopped training and would not be present in the game against the Merengue team, important in the two teams’ pursuit of the title in Spain.



The Baja California player had just conquered the coronavirus, missing four league games and one more in the Champions League, and was predicted to at least be on the bench for the Madrid Derby.
