Senators from various parties signed a document on Thursday expressing their support for life in all its stages.
The letter, led by Ramón Rogelio Genao, Senator for La Vega Province for the Social Christian Reform Party (PRSC), also includes the final part with Senator Héctor Acosta’s announcement, ‘El Torito’, who tweeted in recent days in in favor of all three grounds.
‘I support the 3 causes, period. This country needs to eradicate everything from theory and focus on action. To the churches that focus on bringing the word of God to the temples, not encouraging violence by provoking marches. Let’s pray, ”he said at the time.
When El Torito spoke to Listín Diario on the phone, he stated that with the video he later posted asking for forgiveness for his words, he showed his support for the position of surviving life under any circumstances.
He indicated that no one made him change his mind, and that he reconsidered his position in the shared video.
The document motivated by Rogelio Genao states that “We, the senators elected by the vote of the Dominican people, belong to several political parties represented in the National Congress that make up the Dominican Republic’s party system. Convinced that human life is a fundamental, inalienable and universal right that is ratified and constitutionally recognized in Article 37 of the Constitution of the Republic, we have had this manifesto affirmed with our voice, the commitment to human life in all its stages ”.
The document bears the signature of Rogelio Genao and Héctor Acosta from the senators, Milciades Franjul, Dionis Sánchez, David Sosa, Félix Bautista, Antonio Marte, Virgilio Cedano, Lia Díaz, Eddy Nolasco, José Antonio Castillo, Alexis Victoria yeb, Cristóbal Castillo, Ricardo de los Santos, Iván José Silva and Valentín Medrano.
