An audio of the moment when police officers responded to the shooting that killed three of them in Carolina has been released.
In the 27-second recording, one of the officers hears exclamations that someone has been “murdered by the comrades in state,” that is, they thought one of the attackers had died between shots.
“A fellow countryman is injured. Ambulance 10-50 here too”, sounds later in the audio where one of the officers can be heard screaming.
“I also injured Comrade Hernandez here,” shouts one of the other officers who also calls an ambulance.
It was later learned that three police officers had been injured by gunfire and another was run over in the incident that took place at the Embassy Suites Hotel.
