Health workers today will receive a second dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Several health professionals in Puerto Rico are preparing today to receive the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine after the stated 21 days from the first inoculation.

As reported by Noticentro, several hospitals today will administer the second dose of this vaccine that initially arrived in Puerto Rico on December 15.

One of the hospitals that had already started the trial was the Ashford in Condado, where respiratory therapist Yahaira Alicea, who treated the first case of COVID and also received the first vaccine, has already administered the second dose.

She told the news outlet for the past 21 days that she has had no response and is confident that she has been vaccinated against the virus.

The vaccination process for long-term care homes began yesterday in an effort agreed with pharmacy chains Walgreens and CVS. The first to receive her was a house in Río Piedras.

Noticentro reported that health workers would travel to Vieques and Culebra between January 11 and 16 to vaccinate the health workers of those municipalities.

In Puerto Rico, 90,000 vaccines have been received and approximately 70,000 doses have been administered.
