Harvey Weinstein may be looking at a life behind bars, but he’s still up to date with the latest culinary trends.
Before the disgraced movie mogul’s virtual rendition hearing kicked off Monday, the convicted rapist could be heard discussing the merits of air-fried food with his attorney.
“I bought a hot air fryer and it’s a whole new world,” heard lawyer Norman Effman say before the former film producer appeared.
A clerk agreed, “I keep saying, should I get one, shouldn’t I get one – probably I will!”
“Besides making fries and chicken wings, you can also make burgers,” said Effman. ‘You can do anything about it. It is awesome.”
Weinstein – who is serving 23 years in prison for rape and sex crimes and facing life behind bars on new charges in California – asked his attorney if the trendy device was comparable to a George Foreman countertop grill.
“This is a kind of convection oven,” explained Effman.
Using wings as an example, the lawyer explained how “you can make them without a lot of oil, you just need a little brushing to get healthy fried. [food]
Weinstein is currently incarcerated in the Wende Correctional Facility, a maximum security prison in Alden, New York, where air-fried wings are not on the menu.
Effman later told the court that his client – who was convicted of his conviction in Manhattan last March – has lost several teeth behind bars and is now going blind.
In addition to his sickly health, he is facing more charges in Los Angeles.
