It’s been a long time since we’ve seen it Halo infinite in action via new gameplay footage, but that doesn’t stop 343 Industries from routinely sharing more about the game. Recently, this trend out of the studio continued in a pretty substantial way, as 343 has now unveiled an all-new weapon that players can use as Master Chief in the highly anticipated shooter.
Featured in the latest Inside Infinite blog on the Halo website, 343 Industries revealed the first glimpse of the skewer. The gun is one that didn’t appear in any previous Halo title and is one typically wielded by the Banished, a group that will serve as one of the main antagonists within InfiniteThe spear is described as a power weapon and is intended to be more “fierce” in nature as it is a rifle wielded by the Brutes. “The Banished weapons feel more primitive than some other factions, so this requires a strong sense of organic matter in the content, which helps to provide a strong foundation and sell off its mechanical nature,” explains 343’s lead sound designer. from. , Kyle Fraser. “Even though I mentioned primitive in my previous sentence, the Brutes are generally highly intelligent and use this knowledge to incorporate more technological advancements into their equipment, so we’ll make sure to bring in some interesting sci-fi elements to to sell the imagination. “
343 particularly highlighted the Skewer to talk about how the studio is creating new sound effects for all-new weapons appearing in the series. Since the Banished was a relatively group of fighters, the studio had to think a bit more out of the box to make the Skewer’s sounds that much more unique.
