Gwen Stefani wonders why Blake hadn’t suggested Shelton earlier, “What’s happening to us?”

Three-time Grammy winner Gwen Stefani still wonders why her fiancé Blake Shelton never proposed to her after five years of dating.

“I gotta tell you, I was like, ‘What’s happening to us?'” Said the 51-year-old pop star on the episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday.

‘It was kind of in my head. ‘We’ve been together for a long time. What is going on?’ Like, I was in that place in my head. ‘

Now Gwen and the 44-year-old country crooner will have to wait for the spiky coronavirus pandemic to die before actually planning their wedding.

“We have no plans because of the pandemic,” Stefani complained.

It’s like, ‘Blake, why couldn’t you have that [proposed] in front of? “Now we can’t have a wedding with the pandemic. It’s, like, hang out and say, ‘Okay, pull it out more! “‘

COVID-19 is on the rise nationwide and, according to Johns Hopkins University, there are more than 841,000 confirmed cases in LA that resulted in 11,089 deaths on Wednesday.

In Oklahoma, there are reportedly 208,000 confirmed COVID cases leading to 2,571 deaths as of Wednesday.

As for the Oct. 27 engagement, the Orange County Girl said the moment was “actually pretty magical” at the 1382-acre 10 Point Ranch in Tishomingo, his native Oklahoma.

‘[I] didn’t expect it when it happened – not at all, ”Gwen admitted.

‘I had no idea. Nobody knew. I think he told my dad about two weeks earlier on my birthday. ‘

Stefani continued: ‘We were so close to canceling the trip, and in the end we made it all happen. And we were all here on the farm and in fact it happened, but everyone tried to make sure it wouldn’t happen because nobody knew it was going to happen. And Blake, meanwhile, had this ring, I think, in the side of his truck. ‘

Shelton famously began dating his co-star on The Voice three months after he legally divorced ex-wife # 2 Miranda Lambert in July 2015 after four years of marriage.

Gwen has three sons – Zuma, 12; Kingston, 14; and Apollo, 6 – from her 13-year marriage to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, which ended in August 2015 amid allegations of false cheating.

Stefani was on the NBC late night talk show to perform her new single Let Me Reintroduce Myself – which came out December 7 – from her upcoming fifth studio album.
