Arc System Works is gearing up (guilty) for another beta test for Guilty Gear Strive. On February 18, the masses will be able to try out the game and different modes before it launches on April 9.
The company released details about the upcoming test this morning, detailing what all players will be able to access with the beta and when it goes live. Those who pre-order the digital version of the game on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 will have the chance to play the beta a day earlier than everyone else.
“The #GuiltyGearStrive Open Beta Test will be available on # PS4 and # PS5 from 7:00 pm PST on Feb. 18 to 6:59 am PST on Feb. 21,” Arc System Works said at Twitter. “Players who pre-order digitally will be able to download the Open Beta the day before on February 17th at 10am PST and start playing from 7pm PST.”
Those who choose to jump into the beta can play as 13 of the 15 launch characters for Guilty Gear Strive. Anji Mito will not be accessible here, nor will the 15th hunter.
In terms of modes, Arc System Works actually gives players the opportunity to try out quite a few of them. The Strive beta includes local versus mode, tutorial, training mode and network mode.
The Beta’s online matches are played with net rollback code, and ArcSys notes that you can play matches with “responsiveness similar to offline matches.”
A number of numbers will appear on the screen during beta matches that indicate both ping time and the number of rollback frames that surface during a match. The company encourages beta testers to include the two numbers they see at the top of their screen when reporting issues with the online experience to better identify issues and improve the pre-launch experience.
