Griddy banned from Texas power marker due to payment violation

According to a report, the Texas energy company Griddy has been banned from participating in the state energy market.

The Texas Electric Reliability Council on Friday revoked Griddy’s right to access the state’s electricity market due to a payment breach, Bloomberg reported.

Griddy had previously said it would contest ERCOT’s prices during the crisis.

The company has recently come under fire for pushing utility bills up to $ 17,000 per customer during last week’s deadly winter storm.

The company is in the middle of a $ 1 billion class action lawsuit. The suit accuses Griddy of price gouging and failing to protect his customers from astronomical energy costs.
