The video game Fortnite remains one of the greatest phenomena on Earth, largely due to constant reinvention and creative shake-ups. Some of the coolest twists? All Marvel and DC crossovers. Well, the game just added the Emerald Archer – and the live-action version has some thoughts.
The latest update to To provide adds a new skin for the Green Arrow, featuring most of the classic costume styles and its traditional bow and arrow. The design takes some clues from its comedic style, as well as the costume fans’ live action version that fans will likely recognize from The CW’s long-running (and recently concluded) Arrow series.
Now Stephen Amell, the former star of Arrow, agreed with a minor criticism. His comment? The video game version of Green Arrow lacks its signature goatee – which is a funny and clever ironic throwback – as it was a common complaint among a contingent of fans in the early days of the Arrow series. Of course, the comedic version of Green Arrow often sported a blonde goatee. Instead, the video game version has a dark beard (more similar to the look Amell was often seen on the show).
While Amell’s tenure as the Green Arrow has come to an end, it’s nice to see that he is still keeping a close eye on the character’s legacy – and joking about the same complaints he received when he left for the first fit. Since there isn’t a big screen version of the character to talk about right now, there’s no question that Amell’s take on the character will (and will probably remain for a while) a definitive take on the DC hero.
The Green Arrow skin hits Fortnite as part of the January pack, which goes on sale on December 31. If you want to catch up Arrow, the full eight-season series is now streaming on Netflix. although Arrow may have disappeared, the Arrowfresh TV line-up lives on, with shows like Flash, Superman & Lois, Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow and Black lightning keep it strong in 2021.
