Antonio Sabato Sr. died of COVID-19 complications at the age of 77, after testing positive for the virus earlier this month.

The 48-year-old son of Italian-American actor Antonio Sabato Jr. confirmed the news of his father’s death in a post shared on Twitter January 6.

Antonio was best known for his roles in Escape From The Bronx and Grand Prix, which earned him a nomination for New Star Of The Year at the 1967 Golden Globes.

Antonio Sabato Jr., who constantly took to Twitter to update fans about his father’s ailing health, paid tribute to his father on Wednesday by uploading an old family photo to Twitter.

‘Ciao Papa,’ wrote Sabato Jr., who is known for his role on the CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.

In a follow-up tweet, the star noted that he would love and miss his father ‘Always & Forever’, as he continued to mourn the deceased actor.

Days before his death, Sabato Jr. are Twitter followers to ‘say a prayer for please’ [his] father, ”while battling COVID-19 in an intensive care unit in California.

‘My father / father is in intensive care at Covid in California. Lord, keep him surrounded by angels and pure God’s love and power within, ”he wrote.

On January 5, the actor returned to Twitter to release his next update highlighting the seriousness of his father’s condition.

“My dad / dad is fighting for his life and not doing well and we can’t even see him or be next to him.”

Dear Lord, You are the God of the impossible! There is nothing you cannot do. I come to you now, desperate for a healing miracle for my father. Thank you Jesus, ”with prayer hand emojis.

His condition was seemingly grim because the immense prayers weren’t working while he was fighting for his life.

Sabato Jr. continued to remember his father as he wrote, “The number one, our amazing dad Antonio Sabato“ The Best ”, as he shared a photo of the actor in his heyday.

The younger Sabato – who is a staunch Trump supporter – has spoken out publicly about his views on face masks when it comes to the impending coronavirus.

The same day he asked for “prayers” for his father, he shared a screenshot of it said, “Science says healthy people shouldn’t wear masks,” because she listed reasons not to wear face masks.

He continued to share a photo of him and Trump, writing, ‘He’s actually my president, the greatest and he will technically run our country and the world for the next 4 years!’, Despite Trump indeed losing the election.

The actor, who considers himself a member of the Patriot Party, continued to object to the suspension of Trump’s account by Twitter, saying:

‘You angry garbage bags of Twitter jackas. Please suspend all of us who support The Greatest President in History @realdonaldtrump and give chase. Lots of fun.’

He went on rant about President-elect Joe Biden calling him “a con and a liar and a disgrace, just like his friends Twitter Facebook Ig,” while adding “TRUMP WON BY A LANDSLIDE.” ‘
