The brand’s initiative that celebrates the Dominican Republic and the Month of the Fatherland is called ‘El mangú en la RAE’, so that this word has entered its dictionary and is formally recognized worldwide.
“Because being a Dominican is the best, in this month we want everyone, both in the country and beyond, to join the petition to officially add the name of our emblematic national dish, the mangú, to the dictionary. of the Royal Spanish. Academy (RAE). The mangú is a gastronomic expression that represents us, a single word of great historical, cultural and gastronomic significance, ”said Madelyn Martínez, Vice President Marketing & Financial Retail at Centro Cuesta Nacional.
The word mangú describes the typical Dominican dish of cooked and mashed green plantain. This has gained relevance over the years and has expanded into literary works, in television series and local and international films.
