Gmail users are getting errors

A number of Gmail users faced errors and other issues on Tuesday, a day after Google’s email service experienced global outages.

Tuesday, around 4:30 PM ET, Google’s service status page reported “a significant portion of users” with “errors, high latency, and / or other unexpected behavior.”

The company noted that “affected users can access Gmail,” but they later encounter errors that go beyond general access to the tool.

Downdetector, a website that tracks reports of website problems, also reported similar problems around 3 p.m. ET.

According to the tracker, the problems seemed to mainly affect Gmail servers on Tuesday. Many users had also reported problems with YouTube on Monday.

The company updated its service fix status page at 5:45 PM Tuesday, saying, “The Gmail service has already been restored for some users and we expect a fix for all users in the near future.”
