Glastonbury 2021 Canceled | Pitchfork

Glastonbury has been canceled for the second year in a row due to COVID-19. The “forced fallow year” of the music and arts festival, originally scheduled for June 23-27, marks the first time that its modern incarnation will skip consecutive years. “Despite our efforts to get Heaven & Earth moving, it has become clear that we simply cannot realize the festival,” organizers Emily and Michael Eavis wrote in a statement. “We thank you for your incredible support and let’s look forward to better times.”

As with last year’s cancellation, cardholders can exceed their £ 50 deposit, guaranteeing a chance to get tickets to the 2022 festival. In 2020, Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney headlined the festival. No line-up for next year’s festival – should it go ahead – has yet been confirmed. The 2019 edition featured the Cure, Stormzy, the Killers, Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue and more.
