The UANL Tigres will have an explosive duo on the offensive for the next Mexican football tournament, as will André-Pierre Gignac and Carlos González, who have been among the top five scorers in Liga MX in recent years.
Carlos González was announced as a reinforcement of the felines for the next national football tournament, after passing through the Pumas de la UNAM. and since his arrival in the Liga MX, he has stood out for his ability to score for the goal of the rivals.
The Paraguayan came to Necaxa as reinforcement for the Apertura 2017, a tournament in which he achieved four annotations, for the Clausura 2018 he scored nine and from there he was transferred to Pumas.
With the capital’s team, the forward kept his slowness and his best matches were the Apertura 2018 and Apertura 2019, thanks to the fact that he achieved seven annotations in each.
From the Apertura 2017 until now, between the regular phase and the competition, Carlos González scored 45 annotations that put him fifth among the best scorers in Liga MX in that period..
That ladder is led by the French attacker André-Pierre Gignac, who scored 72 touchdowns for the Tigers in the same period and now he will double up with Carlos González on offense.
Gignac has appeared with the felines for his ability for the rivals’ goal since arriving as reinforcement for the Apertura 2015 and this has led him to win two scoring titles, the Clausura 2016 and Apertura 2018 games.
His performance has led him to top the aforementioned list of the Apertura 2017’s best scorers to date with a total of 72. Also on the list are Julio Furch (Atlas) and Rogelio Funes Mori (Monterrey), with 54 each, and Jonathan Rodríguez (Cruz Azul) with 46.
So, Tigres will have two of the best scorers in recent years in the next Mexican soccer tournament, in which they will compete for the lead role under the guidance of coach Ricardo Ferretti.
