Giant vagina mural is latest salvo in UWS homeless fight

Upper West Sider Judi Sisco, an outspoken activist for years, couldn’t believe the lyrics: Some man asked about the gigantic painting of a vagina she wanted for her home office.

She had not ordered a mural.

Then a pamphlet about bipolar disorder arrived in her letterbox. Followed by a brochure from Adam and Eve, a sex toy manufacturer. Texts from cannabis and porn sellers began to pop up. Tweets and Instagram posts surfaced describing her as a cougar because she was married to a younger man.

The smear and harassment campaign against Sisco, 49, illustrates how ugly the neighborhood’s tug of war over the neighborhood’s homeless problem has become, with two rival advocacy groups – NoNimby vs. Upper West Siders for Safer Streets – Who Declare War on Each Other.

Sisco points the finger at a few women, including Allison Weinger, whom she claims are behind NoNimby, which supports the town’s decision to house hundreds of homeless men at the Lucerne Hotel. Sisco belongs to UWSSS, which has more than 15,000 members on Facebook and wants no other shelter nearby.

While Sisco is not an administrator or monitor, she admits that she is not flawless. She hired NoNimby for what she described as “bullying and name-calling” from her UWSSS friends.

“I’m not a shrinking flower,” she said, “and I have a big mouth.”

But she said the mural and brochures are crossing the line, especially since she has a 12-year-old son. He is the reason she is now going public.

‘If we’re all mean online, fine. I can be mean. They can be nasty. Things like that happen, ”Sisco told The Post. “Sharing my address and sending things to a house where a child lives is not okay. That is another step. “

The ugliness started on Instagram in late August. Sisco said she confronted Weinger after Weinger accused UWSSS members of harassing her. There was a back and forth on Instagram and Twitter. On. On November 20, Weinger had a lengthy exchange on Instagram – screenshots were shared with The Post – with an account holder called gislandjerseytears, who she thinks is Sisco, but Sisco denies.

Gislandjerseytears wrote, “Allison, why not [Weinger’s husband] do you want to put it in you? Maybe because you are constantly hysterical? “

Allison.weinger replied, “Oh, Judi! You seem to be obsessed with my husband and our sex life. Projecting too much? Don’t worry I got you covered girl! Sends you some vibrators, you clearly need. ”

On December 1, the catalog of sex toys arrived.

When approached by The Post, Weinger only described herself as a NoNimby follower.

“I don’t know who Judi is, and she attacked me and my family on Twitter,” Weinger said. “I would really like this to end. To stop all this drama and to stop making up all these lies. “

Sisco suspects that Weinger and other NoNimby members are behind the harassment and gigantic vagina order.

“I don’t have any hard evidence,” she told The Post. “But I think there are many things connecting them and many indications.”

Sisco detailed ‘the harassment’ in a Facebook post of more than 700 words. Sisco said she didn’t go to the police, but spoke to lawyers and sent a cease-fire letter to NoNimby on Instagram.

“It didn’t do anything,” she said of her letter.
