Original story [Thu 11th Feb, 2021 17:30 GMT] With the Terminator and the Predator When you make an entry into Fortnite, it doesn’t seem unrealistic to expect another hit 80s movie franchise to make its debut in the hit Battle Royale game.

This all started with mail from HYPEX on Twitter with an image of a new portal opening on Fortnite Island. This was found in the game’s source code.

Then, a few hours later, the official Fortnite Twitter account posted an audio clip of Jonesy (a leading Fortnite character currently getting help from various universes as part of the game’s ‘Zero Point’ story) sitting down to try and turn on a dusty old pc.

As you can see, this show is called “Reality Log MCP-82” – and as movie fans will know, MCP stands for “Master Control Program” in Disney’s Tron series, while 82 represents the year the original Tron movie was released. “They fight for the users” clearly refers to the character Tron from the same movie.

Tron got a sequel with the title in 2010 Tron Legacy, with a great soundtrack by the French duo Daft Punk. A TV series called Tron: Revolt, arrived in 2012, and more recently there have been reports that a new movie is in development involving Jared Leto.
