Georgia’s signature audit does not identify fraud in presidential elections

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) said in a press release that the Cobb County review, which Biden won by more than 14 percentage points, found that the election council there “has a 99.99% accuracy rate in conducting correct signature verification procedures “.

The signature audit of the submitted vote followed a manual statewide vote recount and subsequent automatic recount that also confirmed Biden’s victory in the Peach State. “The office of the Secretary of State has always been focused on running ballots and strikes in elections and, in this case, three attacks on the voter fraud allegations, and they’re out,” said Raffensperger. “We ran a manual statewide recount that reconfirmed the original count, and an automatic recount at the request of the Trump campaign that also reconfirmed the original count. This audit refutes the only credible allegations the Trump campaign had against the strength of Georgia’s signature match processes. ”

Raffensperger first announced the signature match audit for Cobb County on Dec. 14 over allegations of process errors, but the review found “no fraudulent absenteeism ballots” with a 99 percent confidence threshold. The audit found that only two ballots should have been marked, but in neither case fraud was suspected.

Raffensperger’s office worked with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) to conduct the audit.

Cobb County is one of a number of Atlanta suburbs that Biden has won and fueled his statewide victory.

The results of the audit mark Trump’s latest defeat in his attempt to undermine election results, but are likely to make Raffensperger a target again in the president’s wrath.
