GameStop PS5 Restock Debacle pisses customers off

GameStop is popular on Twitter, and many of the tweets feature angry customers complaining about recent PS5 attachments. GameStop has had several PS5 restocks this month. It has also had several Xbox Series X restocks. And these restocks have provided many PlayStation and Xbox gamers with next-gen consoles for Christmas. But a lot has gone wrong for the retailer too. Not only do bots and resellers keep gobbling up the supply, but orders are also canceled. In other words, even if you manage to beat the bots, beat the site’s crashes, and beat the millions of PlayStation fans who are also trying to bring in an order, it could be canceled for a variety of reasons.

In addition, it seems that GameStop’s stock is unable to fulfill their orders. Customers are reporting that consoles they had heard about weeks ago are not showing up, while in some cases the store is telling customers they won’t get their console until April 2021.

It’s been a bit of a debacle. And it’s been a mess for other retailers too, including Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Amazon. Right now, however, it is GameStop that is popular on Twitter, and this is partly because users make GameStop jokes about stimulus checks, but it is also because there are many angry GameStop customers who take to the social media platform to vent their frustration.
