Game plan for week 15

Without the setback they’d suffered in Philadelphia, the New Orleans Saints would have reached their duel against the Kansas City Chiefs under similar circumstances – with the first seed of their conference.

Reality is different, although not very different. The Saints have the second-best record in the NFC by tiebreak alone, but that doesn’t diminish the appeal of the game against the Chiefs, who both come in with a combined record of 22-4 (.846), the fourth most. high for a game scheduled for week 15 or later in the Super Bowl era (1966).

Additionally, Kansas City’s visit to New Orleans is the only game in which the expensive teams will see a winning record this week.

When two teams with the best records in their conferences meet at this point in the regular season, several like to call this game an early Super Bowl. We’ll see if the Chiefs and Saints live up to that prediction seven weeks from now.

NOTE: Each expert’s choices are in capital letters and bold.

– DID THE PACKERS SHOW ENOUGH TO CONSIDER THEY FAVORITES TO WIN THE NFC TITLE?

The chill of the numbers supports this idea. Thanks to another great year from Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers enter Week 15 with the best attack in the league (averaging 31.5 points per game). Looking at the defensive performance and experience that head coach Matt Lafleur has certainly gained, the 2020 version of Green Bay is better than the one that stayed in the 2019 NFC final.

The post-season question Green Bay has to solve is its ability to beat teams that resist it with a tough defense strategy. It’s no coincidence that their losses this season came to Tampa Bay, Minnesota and Indianapolis, teams that managed to neutralize Rodgers, Davante Adams and Aaron Jones.

Of course, if they keep the first seed in the NFC and play the Playoffs at home, the Packers’ chances of making it to the Super Bowl would increase compared to 2019.

– WILL THE STEELERS BE ABLE TO KEEP THE PACE TO WIN THE AFC NORTH TITLE?

The Steelers are still a good team and must win the division. By the postseason, Mike Tomlin should have corrected the situation on his attack and run more with the ball. Balance aside, it’s the lack of power with his running backs and the over-passing with Ben Roethlisberger that influenced his attack. The defense misses Devin Bush and Bud Dupree, but they can get by without them.

– DOES THE SAINT ATTACK HAVE THE CAPACITY TO GET AN EXPLOSIVE DUEL WITH THE CHIEFS ATTACK?

I do not think so. The rest of the league appears to have adapted to Taysom Hill over the past two weeks, with the Saints averaging 21 points in recent games. Drew Brees is getting closer to his return and New Orleans needs him.

That said, if Hill is behind center, you should allow him to use his legs more and not try to show the world that he can be a pure pocket quarterback. Likewise, these Saints are not a team going to score 37 points per game, but rather a balanced team with an elite defense.

The Chiefs have not won any of their last five games by more than six points, and while they seem to have room for error, they are not as good as last year on this point. I don’t think it’s an explosive attack duel, but a close game with less points than expected, as happened in the game between Kansas City and Denver.

FANTASY FORECASTS

Obviously, Derrick Henry must be included in the race for the MVP nomination. He is the undisputed leader of his offensive. Without him, the Titans wouldn’t come close to winning their first division championship since 2008.

Henry has more yards and touchdowns per run than anyone else in the league, has seven games of 100 or more yards, a few games of at least 200 yards, and always puts on his helmet during the toughest games and against big opponents. For example, he scored three times and surpassed 100 meters in the first half of the win against the Colts in Week 10, a feat that took Inidianapolis to first place in the AFC South, where they have remained ever since.

FANTASY PREDICTIONS

– CAN THE DEFENDANT CHARGE THE WASHINGTON TEAM IN DUEL AGAINST THE SEAHAWKS?

You’d think a trip from the West Coast to the East Coast to play at 1 p.m. ET, a time that’s 10 a.m. on the tripper’s body clock, and to play against a defense that has dominated the past few weeks. reason enough to think that the Seattle Seahawks are victims of the game against Washington.

However, the Seahawks have the best win rate (.846, 11-2) when they play at 1pm on the East Coast of the United States since 2015 and another incentive they have is getting them into the Playoffs through a win. .

The Washington defense has put the most pressure on the opponent’s quarterbacks (58 times) for the past four weeks, and they tend to break through in protection and make opponents uncomfortable. The duel will not be an easy one for Russell Wilson and his offense, but the experience will have a specific weight against a Washington team learning to win important games.

FANTASY FORECASTS

QB with the most meters by air: Tom Brady (Tampa Bay), 350 meters
RB with the most rushing yards: Derrick Henry (Tennessee), 150 yardas
Defensive allowing fewer points: Rams (7 points)

– DOES IT IN ANY WAY AFFECT THE NFL THAT THE DALLAS COWBOYS ARE NOT TRANSCENDENT?

It will always be good for all professional leagues if the most popular teams do well in the season. Dallas Cowboys is a team that will always be talked about, for all those teams that love him and all those that hate him. For something, year after year we see them in primetime no matter how they have gone in previous years, but there are things that cannot be sustained and in the end the most important thing for any professional league will be to present the best product for the best performance . review. Dallas is a very important team for the NFL, but is not playing at a level that appeals to the spectator this season.
