New role: HBO’s highly anticipated Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon has added another key cast member with Fabien Frankel signing in

New Character: The 27-year-old actor has been cast on the series as Ser Criston Cole, according to Game of Thrones author George RR Martin’s Not a Blog website
Cole is a member of the Kingsguard for King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine), and this knight’s actions are pivotal to the start of a civil war.
He is a knight of the Isle of Dorne, whom Martin described in his blog as “the ordinary son of the steward of the Lord of Blackhaven.”
‘He has no claim to lands or titles, all he has is his honor and his skill with sword and lance. He’s a challenger, a champion, cheered by the commons, loved by the ladies, ‘added Martin.

New Character: Cole is a member of the Kingsguard for King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine), and this knight’s actions are crucial to the start of a civil war.
“He’s a lover (or is he?), A tempter (or is he?), A traitor (or is he?), A heartthrob and a maker of kings,” concluded Martin.
Frankel joins a cast starring Emma D’arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Velaryon, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria and Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon.
Created by Ryan Condal (Colony) and Martin, the series is set 300 years before the events of the Game of Thrones series, based on Martin’s 2019 companion Fire & Blood.

George says, “He’s a lover (or is he?), A tempter (or is he?), A traitor (or is he?), A heartthrob and a maker of kings,” concluded Martin.
The series tells the story of House Targaryen, who ruled Westeros for hundreds of years before the events of the show.
Miguel Sapochnik and Condal will act as showrunners and executive producers alongside Martin, Vince Gerardis, Sara Lee Hess and Ron Schmidt.
Clare Kilner (The Alienist: Angel of Darkness, The Wedding Date) and Geeta V. Patel (Meet the Patels, The Witcher) will also direct the series, with Greg Yaitanes (Banshee, House) as director and co-executive producer.

Game of Thrones and Westworld composer Ramin Djawadi will provide the score for the series.
Frankel made his acting debut in 2019’s Last Christmas alongside, perhaps ironically, Emilia Clarke, who played House Targaryen’s final descendant, Daenerys Targaryen, in Game of Thrones.
He also played Theo Sipowicz, the son of Dennis Franz’s character in an NYPD Blue revival that was not picked up for serials and plays Dominique Renelleau in Netflix’s The Serpent, which debuted last week.
