Manchester City will not be able to count on two protagonists on Boxing Day because they tested positive for Covid, Gabriel Jesús and Kyle Walker.
Manchester City footballers Gabriel Jesús and Kyle Walker have tested positive for Covid, the English club confirms.
Two other club employees also tested positive in the weekly Premier League tests.
According to the City, the four will be kept in isolation under the protocol of the Prime Minister and the British government.
“Everyone at the club wishes our teammates all the best, as well as a speedy recovery over the Christmas period before they can get back to work, training and playing,” City added.
The Prime Minister is currently conducting a weekly test on players and team staff, although he plans to increase this to two per week, such as during the first months after the pandemic, in those areas at level 4 infections. Manchester is currently at level 3 and has no plans to upgrade.
