Future GTA Online Heists are for people who play solo

Friends optional

Teamwork makes the dream work, but it also cuts you into fractions. The lonely wolves of GTA Online does not always want to perform large tasks as a group. They prefer to take the loot all to themselves. Much more risk, much more reward.

Rockstar designed the latest GTA Online Heist, Cayo Perico, to bow down a single player. It’s just as team-oriented for people who play in teams, but it was also perfectly approachable as a solo player. It’s the first time Rockstar has taken solos into account when developing a new Heist, and some of the community seems to appreciate it.

In an interview with GQ, design director Scott Butchard says “It’s something we’ve been doing for quite some time and the community has been talking about it. It is something we would like to continue. We want to respect teams and players who want to play co-op. But at the same time, still let solo players get an equally valid experience from it. Both have advantages. Going in alone takes 100 percent of the discount and it’s a lot easier to do stealth and plan when you don’t have communication. With multiple players you can split up and do several things at the same time. “

Butchard adds that Rockstar is “going to inject more of that single player element [in future Heists]. “In fact, it will influence the design of the future GTA Online content, not just the big flashy Heist missions. GTA Online is a massive social game, but it doesn’t have to be. Rockstar makes sure to cater to those who go it alone.
