LEBANON, Tenn. (WTVF) – Freezing rain and sleet has created dangerous travel conditions throughout Tennessee, leading to ice-related crashes.
A multiple vehicle accident blocked the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Spence Lane for about two hours, but has since been cleared.

Earlier in the day, part of Interstate 40 West in Wilson County was closed after a tractor trailer was cut just east of Lebanon. Westbound lanes were closed for about 90 minutes but have since reopened.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said that although the highway has reopened, road conditions remain “icy”.

In Maury County, a semi plowed through a crash barrier on I-65 at milestone 43. Troopers said the driver was not injured.
