Free agent WR Marvin Jones chooses Jaguars over Raiders, Texans

It is clear that the Raiders intend to be active in free agency this year. So far, they’ve only signed one outside free agent, who is kidding Yannick Ngakoue. Mike Mayock recently made it clear that the Raiders want to go deep into free agency this year and fill a myriad of gaps.

One of the positions they want to land someone is wide receiver. And now that Nelson Agholor has signed up with the Patriots to open a free agency, they need to look outside.

The Raiders are tied to veteran AJ Green, but in the twilight of his career, Green would clearly not be a priority signing. More of a fallback option.

There are a handful of top recipients for free agents. One of the first to agree to the terms was Marvin Jones Jr. He’s going to Jacksonville. And according to Mike Silver, the Raiders also tried to sign the former Lions recipient.

Jones’s deal is reportedly a two-year $ 14.5 million deal with $ 9.2 million fully guaranteed according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter

This deal comes a day after WR Corey Davis already agreed to the Jets.

But even with Davis and Jones gone, there is still a lot of talent with the receiver, including the top executive, Jones’s former teammate Kenny Golladay and former Steelers Pro Bowl receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Others include: TY Hilton, Curtis Samuel, Sammy Watkins, Keenan Cole, and Breshad Perriman
