“Discontinuing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and broader plan to ensure that the Dr. Seuss Enterprises catalog represents and supports all communities and families,” the organization said.
Fox News spent much of the day mocking “ culture cancellation, ” despite the fact that the company made the decision itself and most of the beloved author’s books will remain in circulation.
The progressive watchdog group Media Matters counted 85 entries from Seuss on Fox News at 4 p.m.
I’m counting 85 mentions of “Seuss” on Fox News today from 4pm via subtitles. They’ve dealt with his alleged cancellation every hour since 4am, with him saying his name an average of 7 times an hour. https://t.co/lBUXE2WNGp

Just a normal day to watch the news. I’m sure this isn’t hurting my brain. Cool cool. I love my news. pic.twitter.com/RgZOYZDd0u

And it didn’t stop from there. Dr. Seuss was also seen during the evening as Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson devoted parts of their shows to the topic.
Fox News critics on social media couldn’t figure out how much airtime the network spent on the story – lamenting all the news that didn’t get as much attention as a result:
Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) is facing yet another credible allegation of sexual harassment.
Down in DC, a rising Republican Party star faces a similar bill – but Fox News would rather ask him about … Dr. Seuss? pic.twitter.com/wPySdNYNTp

If they couldn’t talk about Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head what would that happen @Fox news talk about?
– Joe Walsh (@WalshFreedom) March 2, 2021
This is great news. Now all we need is a mass information campaign so that white Republicans will take over and we can all get our lives back. It’s a shame Fox News can’t help but they seem pretty overwhelmed with pivotal stories about Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head to report. https://t.co/QQf5DOuzyu

I feel like Fox News should pay royalties for all the miles they drive with Dr. Take off Seuss.

Fox News is losing its shit about Dr. Seuss … as if anyone looking at that network or working for that network ever read a book … pic.twitter.com/Ke6D1R6649

Seriously Fox News, you can’t talk about the pressing issue of title inflation in the medical field from either side.
Either Dr. Jill Biden and Seuss get the cart, either America has not been canceled and both are revered for their cultural contributions. Choose a lane. https://t.co/G9ukARbsEh

Oh, you didn’t think Tucker would skip the Great Dr. Seuss Culture War tonight, did you?
So it’s Dr. Seuss’s birthday. The Biden government refuses to celebrate. We’re celebrating and we’ll tell you exactly why. ‘ pic.twitter.com/xrPEOgB7Mg
