A new Fortnite discovery has left players of the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and mobile battle royale game mad with speculation about what Epic Games is up to for Season 6. The new season is finally here, and before that, Epic Games has made some significant changes to the game, including some map changes, and it looks like this is just the beginning as new leaks indicate that something even bigger is brewing, though it remains to be seen whether this will happen during season 6 or season 7.
Going on Twitter, prominently Fortnite leaker HypeX shared what they recently discovered in the game’s files. While looking through the files added with the most recent update, the leaker came across a mysterious, unreleased item that appears to be a meteor, even though it is code-named “boulder” in the files. In addition, the files reveal that it has rolling physics, a “wake” effect, its own sounds, and even statistics. Furthermore, although the image below makes it look small, it is in fact 1.5x bigger than the player.

At this point, it’s unclear what the hell this thing is or how Epic Games will use it, but fans have their theories of course. And as some have pointed out, the fact that dinosaurs and meteors pop up in the files at the same time is quite suspicious.
