Reynaldo Vásquez, the former president of the Salvadoran Football Association (Fesfut), is mandated by US authorities and will be extradited to that country.

And it is that the United States Department of Justice is accusing the accused of receiving money from Media World company in exchange for marketing and television rights from the Salvadoran national soccer team from the matches of the qualifying round for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Media World company began a relationship with Fesfut in October 2009, when both parties signed the first rights transfer contract (which expired in 2013) through Vásquez.

The special hearing was attended by staff from the Anonymous Port Executive Commission (CEPA), the State Department, Interpol and a representative from the U.S. Department of Migration, and the purpose of the hearing is to document the logistics and the date Vásquez will be sent as long as he does not test positive for Coronavirus in the PCR tests.

The parties will meet again on the 20th of this month to determine if all the required documentation and logistics are in order to carry out the transfer of the inmate, which is located in the La Esperanza Penitentiary Center, known as Mariona.

Vásquez was banned for life by FIFA from any activity related to federated football for violating the Code of Ethics.
