Former Bills QB Wins WWE 24/7 Title Over R-Truth (View)

Doug Flutie, former Buffalo Bills quarterback, must have had some extra Flutie Flakes this morning.

In today’s Celebrity Sweat Flag Football tournament, Flutie won the WWE 24/7 Championship belt.

The premise of the title, as you can tell from its name, is that it can be won at any time. WWE Superstar R-Truth has held the title many times since its introduction. The wrestler was one of the many WWE superstars who took part in the flag football tournament on Saturday, and during halftime, R-Truth was distracted by the likes of Cesaro, The Miz and Titus O’Neil. With R-Truth’s focus elsewhere, the former Bills quarterback rolled up the wrestler for the count of three. You can see the pin below.

Unfortunately for Flutie, the title reign was short lived. R-Truth rolled up Flutie and won the title for the 49th time.

Flutie played with the Bills from 1998-2000. He made it to the Pro Bowl and won the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award with Buffalo in 1998 as he led the team to an 8-3 record when he started. In 1999, Flutie went 10-5 as the team’s starting quarterback. He was rested in the final and lost the runway in the playoffs to Rob Johnson, a decision that continues to upset many Bills fans to this day.
