The case of two children were fatally run over by a woman in the exclusive community of Westlake Village, in the Los Angeles area, has taken a new turn because a former star baseball player was reportedly involved in the tragedy.

Scott Erickson, a winner of 142 games in 15 seasons in the Major Leagues, has been charged in connection with the September 29 accident on the streets of Westlake Village.

That night, Rebecca Grossman sent her luxury Mercedes-Benz Mark and Jacob Iskander, aged 11 and 9respectively, when the kids crossed a crosswalk at the intersection of Triunfo Canyon Road and Saddle Mountain. The parents managed to protect two other of their children who had not strayed too far.

Grossman, who took to the road, was then suspected of ‘racing’ with another driver.

Grossman, an influential woman in the region and a relative of leading burn medical specialists, was released on $ 2 million bail.

The Los Angeles County law firm claims that Erickson, who played for teams like Minnesota, Baltimore, LA Dodgers and NY Yankees, was the person Grossman ran the street race with.

Erickson, 51, was charged reckless driving charges and must appear in court on March 16.

Grossman was charged with manslaughter with a vehicle and also more for escaping the scene (hit and run). She is facing a prison sentence of 34 years to life. if found guilty.
