Former ‘Bachelor’ star Colton Underwood films non-scripted series for Netflix

The former “Bachelor” star, who first publicly revealed he is gay on Wednesday, is currently in production for a series without script for the streaming service, according to a source with knowledge of the project.

Netflix representatives did not have an official comment.

An Underwood representative said they could not comment on the matter.

The news comes on the same day that Underwood first spoke about his sexuality with Robin Roberts in “Good Morning America.”

“I’ve walked away from myself for a long time, I’ve hated myself for a long time. I’m gay. I came to terms with that earlier this year, and the next step in all of this was about people you know,” Underwood said. I am the happiest and healthiest I have ever been in my life. That means a lot to me. “

Underwood, a former NFL player, starred on season 23 of the ABC dating show.

The past few years have been big for Netflix’s non-scripted space, where a number of traditional reality series (i.e. those outside of reality competition and food spaces) made breakthroughs, even as the streamer’s library of original offerings continued to grow . “Selling Sunset” is arguably its biggest success to date, extending for two seasons last month.
