For the third time in four days, Utah reported no new deaths from COVID-19 – but more than 500 new cases per day.

More than 700,000 Utahns have been fully vaccinated; no new deaths.

For the third time in four days, Utah reported no new deaths from COVID-19. And the number of residents who have been fully vaccinated is now more than 700,000.

At the same time, the number of new cases of the coronavirus in the state climbed back above 500 for the first time since April 6, and the number of Utahns hospitalized with COVID-19 increased 24 per day – a 16% increase.

Vaccine Doses Administered Over the Last Day / Total Doses Administered • 30,243 / 1,768,246.

Utahns fully vaccinated • 714,923.

Cases reported in the past day • 530.

Deaths reported in the past day • No.

Tests reported in the past day • 8,155 people were tested for the first time. A total of 19,832 people were tested.

Hospital admissions reported in the past day • 148. That is 24 more than Tuesday. Of those currently hospitalized, 59 are in intensive care – the same as on Tuesday.

Percentage of positive tests • According to the state’s original method, the rate is 6.5%. That is lower than the seven-day average of 7.7%.

The state’s new method counts all test results, including repeated tests from the same person. Tuesday’s rate was 2.7%, lower than the seven-day average of 3.8%.

Totals so far • 391,177 cases; 2,161 dead; 15,838 hospital admissions; 2,463,704 people tested.
