MEXICO CITY. – Natanael Cano, originally from Hermosillo, Sonora at just 19 years old, has managed to break the stereotypes of various music genres, including the Mexican Regional.
Cano surprised everyone when he launched his new musical collaboration; a duet with Alejandro Fernández, one of the greatest exponents of music in Mexico.
It is a new version of the song “Amor Tumbado”, with which “El Potrillo” ties in with this musical trend.
The networks exploded when the song Amor Tumbado was released, the same song that has more than 1 million reproductions so far (less than 24 hours after publication). The opinions were immediate and in fact “El Potrillo” silenced the comments on their social networks as the criticism did not stop due to the collaboration.
Cano’s songs are inspired by the traditional sounds of Mexican music, but he likes to incorporate hip-hop and trap decorations, in addition to the fact that his appearance has nothing to do with what is ‘normal’ seen in artists of this genre.
The Sonoran is also the creator of the lyrics to his songs, as he has noted, he is inspired by experiences from his life and those of his friends.
He explained that the horizontal corridors are a mishmash of regional Mexican music, with hip-hop and a hint of trap, a fact that has “offended” more than one and the reason it has been severely criticized.
Natanael released his first single in 2018, ‘El with Gucci Glasses’, since then his presence in the music industry has sparked great controversy as his style is despised despite being very viral and famous in networks, because at least on Spotify counts it with more than 6 million listens per month, and its songs have reached more than 100 million reproductions.
“I get along very calmly, I don’t hallucinate in my work, I don’t believe anyone, do you understand me? I just do it for fun, I make my songs for love and it will stay that way,” he said in an interview. with Vice.
