Footballers leave the concentration of the Marathon; one continues to live in the United States – Ten

A new controversy is shaking up the Marathon when it was confirmed that two of his players decided to stay in the United States after the game against the Portland Timbers where they were defeated 5-0 in Oregon.

TEN has confirmed that one of them will not return to the country and that it is the replacement goalkeeper, Luis Ortiz, returning from Portland on Thursday, decided to defect from the concentration at Houston International Airport, along with central defender Carlos López Perdomo.

In the case of the young goalkeeper, Ortiz considered making the decision as the club has failed to meet expectations financially due to his low salary and some delays presented to him.

Goalkeeper Luis Ortiz made his debut in the last tournament with Marathón against Honduras Progreso, also played the matches of the Concacaf League against Saprissa and Fogre FC where they made the pass to the current Concacaf Champions League. He had a contract with the institution for another year.

It is not the first case that occurs in this Concacaf Champions League. In Haiti’s Arcahaie, the two goalkeepers who played against Mexico’s Cruz Azul escaped from concentration to stay in DF and both sent a statement confirming the reason they emigrated from their country. The first was the second goalkeeper, Wilmane Exumé, who did it before the game.

“I’M GOING BACK TO HONDURAS ON FRIDAY”

The central defender Carlos Perdomo, the other of the footballers who left the concentration of purslane in Houston and stayed in the United States, but the player himself assured TEN that he did so with the permission of the coaching staff and that he will return to San Pedro Sula this Friday.

Minutes later, he also posted on his Facebook account that he hasn’t stayed. “What a poorer mindset we have, they bomb something that is a lie and they don’t share that the politicians stole so many millions from the hospitals and only 2,000 vaccines arrived. Marathon,” Perdomo wrote.

TEN tried to contact the president Orinson Amaya and Vice President Rolin Peña for more information on the matter, but they did not respond to the call. An official statement is expected to be sent in the coming minutes.
