While only a handful of spots get the freezing rain this afternoon and tonight, if you do get it, take it seriously.

Freezing rain creates a glaze of ice and makes driving or walking dangerous.

The National Weather Service has prepared a winter weather advisory for the counties that will see the spottiest freezing rain.

The spotty snow will occasionally fall this afternoon and evening in the Poconos, in the north of Lehigh Valley (north of the major cities) and north of Reading. The snow will be a little more than a layer, but less than an inch to the spots that see it.

The spotty icy rain and snow will end at 2am.

Sunday we will be dry.

Then Monday afternoon we follow more blotchy sleet and blotchy snow.

Then we have a short break from ice formation in places and from the snow on Monday evening around rush hour.

After dinnertime, the frigid rain will become widespread and everyone will see ice pile up on Monday night.

It is still freezing during rush hour on Tuesday morning. Then the freezing rain turns into pure rain later in the morning when warmer air comes from the south. The rain stops before dinner on Tuesday. It won’t be icy for commuting on Tuesday evening.

Wednesday we catch our breath in a sunny sky. At night, head out to see Mars next to the crescent moon.

NASA will also land on Mars on Thursday! An all-terrain vehicle and a small drone helicopter are currently underway. They have been on a six-month journey.

Thursday afternoon and evening we will see more spotty freezing rain, creating icy spots for the evening commute. Then the icy rain turns into pure rain early in the night on Thursday, while warmer air comes again from the south. We will just have rain later on Thursday evening and all day on Friday.

Next weekend will be dry. We will be sunny next Saturday and partly sunny next Sunday.
