A Florida man who posted videos on social media that appeared to show him entering the Capitol was arrested by federal agents on Thursday for his alleged role in the Jan. 6 uprising.
Adam Honeycutt was arrested after two people tipped off the FBI. Both informed the agency of the man’s Facebook page, which, according to one of the tipsters’, showed multiple videos and photos apparently taken by [him] in the Capitol, “said a charge.
A tipster said they were “not friends with him” on Facebook, but said there was ample evidence on his public feed, according to the complaint, “Including a photo of him holding a broken piece of a desk from within the Capitol.”
That photo is included in the government’s complaint, the broken furniture has a distinctive sticker showing the owner: “US SENATE SERGEANT AT ARMS.”

Days after the riot, Honeycutt seemed to realize there could be legal ramifications. In a private post, provided to the FBI by a confidential informant, he insisted that he had not been to the Capitol at all.
“Hell, I was at the food truck when the shit hit the fan,” he wrote on Jan. 10, claiming to have said that before, but he didn’t have a reception. Then it was put in [Facebook] prison, so I couldn’t let you guys know I wasn’t with the rioters. “
He also changed his profile picture from one of him outside the Capitol to another with him and a small child.
According to the indictment, videos posted on the day of the riot and reviewed by the FBI suggest otherwise.
In one, he appears to be outside the Capitol as rioters clash with police, the charges allege. “It’s almost going down!” he shouts, according to court documents. In another, the complaint claims, he appears in front of the camera and says, “Well, made it.”
His still-active Facebook page reveals he’s a fan of Fox News personalities Laura Ingraham and Tucker Carlson. On January 28, he updated his profile photo again into a meme that depicts President Joe Biden as a character from “The Avengers,” Thanos, snapping his fingers and eliminating jobs in the oil industry, a reference to the cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline.

Honeycutt is accused of trespassing, violent entry and disorderly conduct. He was arrested at his girlfriend’s home in Orange Park, Florida, a suburb of Jacksonville, according to local NBC News affiliate News4Jax. He is waiting for up to six months in prison.

His attorney, Lee Lockett, did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment. However, he told News4Jax that his client is working with authorities.
Prosecutors are trying to prevent Honeycutt from being released on bail, alleging they found marijuana and improperly secured weapons when they arrested him.
Honeycutt is a guarantor himself, the complaint says, a LinkedIn page stating that he has been working as a guarantor since August 2018.
A hearing at the federal courthouse in Jacksonville is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
