The Florida Department of Health on Thursday confirmed the first case in the state of the new and most contagious variant of COVID-19.
This is a 20 year old male from Martin County who has no travel history.
“The department is working with the CDC on this investigation,” said Twitter.
This week, the first two cases of the new strain of COVID-19 in the United States were identified in Colorado and California.
Florida has evidence of the first identified case of the UK COVID-19 variant in Martin County. The individual is a man in his twenties with no travel history. The department is working on this investigation with the CDC. We encourage everyone to continue to apply COVID-19 mitigation.
