The list of nominees for the Latin American Music Awards, returning in 2021 after being canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, includes several Dominican artists.
Alex Bueno, Romeo Santos, Prince Royce, Natti Natasha and Juan Luis Guerra are the Creoles nominated this year, with Colombians Karol G and J Balvin topping the list with nine nominations each.
Both Colombian artists each received nine nominations on Tuesday. Thanks to his album “Colores” and his successful collaboration with Black Eyes Peas “Ritmo (Bad Boys For Life)”, Balvin competes for artist, album, single, collaboration and social artist of the year awards. The Latin American Music Awards ceremony, for its sixth edition, will be broadcast live on Telemundo on Thursday, April 15 from the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida.

This year’s Latin AMA nominations are based on streaming, sales, broadcast and social activity data as analyzed by Billboard through its allies MRC Data and Next Big Sound, from January 17, 2020 to January 21, 2021.
When it comes to favorite video and favorite virtual concert of the year, the candidates are selected by a committee of industry professionals who consider their quality, content and creativity.
