First, watch Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s Oprah interview

Meghan Markle is ready to say that life in the royal family was “almost impossible to survive” in an astonishing interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The first glimpse of Winfrey’s CBS interview with Markle and husband Prince Harry aired Sunday night during a commercial break for “60 Minutes.”

And what the couple tell Winfrey is so sensational that the legendary host says, “You said some pretty shocking things here … wait, hold on, hold on.”

The pregnant Markle, who does not speak in the trailer, cradles her middle and looks at the billionaire media mogul as Winfrey asks her, “Were you silent or were you silenced?”

Winfrey added, “I want to make it clear to everyone that there is no subject that is off limits.”

Moments later she says to Markle, “Sounds almost insurmountable like there was a breaking point.”

Dressed in a Giorgio Armani belted dress that retails for $ 4,700, and with her hair pulled back from her face, Markle, 39, is joined by her 36-year-old husband.

The pair grab their hands as Harry, who has often spoken of his grief at the death of his mother Princess Diana, tells Winfrey, “My biggest concern was that history was repeating itself.”

Talking further about his mother, who broke her silence about Prince Charles’s affair with Camilla Parker Bowles in her famous 1995 BBC interview with Martin Bashir, Harry makes it clear that he is still haunted by her passing.

He says, “You know, to me I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here talking to you with my wife by my side because I can’t imagine what it must have been like going through this. herself all those years ago.

“Because it was incredibly difficult for the two of us, but at least we had each other.”

Winfrey’s interview has been expanded into a two-hour exclusive primetime special airing Sunday March 7.

The couple will speak about their decision to leave the royal family and move to California with their infant son Archie.

A source told page six of the tell-all, “It’s profound and fascinating.”
